The PKD Charity has entered into partnerships with two firms specialising in high-risk insurance for people with pre-existing conditions:

• The Insurance Surgery
• Freedom Insurance

 

These firms should be seen as a useful starting point, but it is worth contacting a number of insurers to compare prices. Insurers are becoming increasingly knowledgeable on kidney conditions and are offering better terms and lower premiums.

 

For every policy sold, each firm will give a donation directly to The PKD Charity at no additional cost to you. Both firms already work with a number of medical charities on the same basis.

 

But please note that we are not endorsing them as an exclusive providers of cover.

 

To proceed with an application it would be useful to have the following information when you call them:

• GFR (Glomerular Filtration Rate)
• Creatinine Levels
• Blood Pressure
• On Dialysis or Transplanted
