Position: CEO, PKD Charity UK

Are you passionate about making a difference? We are seeking a committed and motivated CEO to lead our national charity supporting PKD patients, carers, and renal clinicians in the UK.

About Us:
PKD Charity UK has expanded its support services and research funding through fundraising and strategic partnerships. We are launching a consortium to enhance groundbreaking PKD research. Our team includes dedicated staff, trustees, and individuals affected by PKD. This position is open due to the unexpected passing of our former CEO. Currently, we are under interim management.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide visionary leadership and direction.
  • Team Management: Motivate and lead staff to achieve our mission.
  • Representation: Act as the primary spokesperson to supporters, healthcare professionals, and partners.
  • Support Services: Ensure delivery of world-class support services.
  • Research Leadership: Lead and engage in research initiatives.
  • Patient Involvement: Ensure patient involvement in research programs.
  • Networking: Represent our charity in European and global rare disease networks.

Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of medical research and patient advocacy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build and maintain partnerships
  • Experience in strategic planning and financial management

Details:

  • Primarily remote role with travel required
  • Flexible working options (part-time 3 days/week to full-time, salary pro-rated)

Founded in 2000, we are the only UK charity dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by polycystic kidney disease (PKD), a life-threatening inherited condition. We provide accredited information, advice, and personalised support while raising awareness and funding research to discover better therapies.
