From marathons and half marathons to coastal walks and skydives; we have loads of fantastic events for you to get involved with.
Sign up to take part in a challenge for us and you will be raising much needed awareness and funds to enable PKD Charity to continue to raise vital awareness about PKD and offer support to those in need. To help you, we will provide:
A free PKD t-shirt or running vest
Pre-event support from the PKD Team
- A fundraising pack and resources to help you raise as much as possible
Whether you are a keen runner or an enthusiastic jogger, there is sure to be a running event to suit you.
We offer charity places in the London Marathon, Great North Run and Edinburgh Marathon Festival but there are 5K, 10K, Half Marathon and Marathons happening all over the country that you can sign up to with your own place and fundraise for PKD Charity.
Take part in one of the challenging but beautiful walking events that we offer in partnership with Action Challenge. If you are a keen walker or runner looking for a challenge, then the Ultra Challenge events are for you! Whether it’s along a stunning coastline, or on trails in the best of Britain’s countryside, your 2023 Ultra Challenge® will be unforgettable.
Alternatively, you could organise your own walking event as part of our Walk for PKD challenge. You choose the distance, location and when you want to do it. However, and wherever you choose to walk, you will be raising awareness and funds to support people affected by PKD and research in to finding a cure.
Imagine you’re standing at an open doorway in an aircraft flying 10,000 feet. All you hear is the noise of the plane’s engines and the wind whipping round your ears. You look out and see distant fields; a river below…Imagine now leaning out of the doorway and letting go. You start whizzing through clouds. The canopy opens, and you float peacefully down to the ground!
In return for raising a minimum sponsorship target, you can do all of this for FREE – whilst raising vital funds to help support people affected by PKD.
- ‘Tandem Skydive’ from 10,000 feet attached to a professional instructor (£395 target in England and £450 in Scotland and Kent)
- ‘Accelerated Freefall’ where you can experience the thrill of skydiving solo from up to 12,000 feet (£535 target). Please note that Accelerated Freefall skydives are only available at certain locations.
What’s more – with over 20 British Parachute Association approved airfields across the UK there is sure to be one near you!
No experience is necessary as all training is given and if you raise from £365 (depending on the type of jump you choose) you will receive your jump for free!

The events listed on our website are just some of the events on offer but there are lots more happening around the country. If you have signed up for your own place in a local running event, have decided to take on a coast to coast cycling challenge or are trekking up Ben Nevis, we'd love to hear from you.
